Class Structure
Our Yoga classes are based on Classic or Traditional Yoga which has been in existence for more than 5,000 years.
All our practises are rooted in tradition which has been proven to be
safe & beneficial as it has been tested through time.
Sanskrit words are used whenever necessary to bring authencity to our practise.
We will usually structure our classes as follows:-
1. Prarambhik Sthiti
Centering exercise - We sit on the floor and bring our focus to our
breath, body & mind. Once we are focused and centered we begin our
class (3 to 5 minutes)
2. Pawanmuktasana
Joint exercise for the whole body. before warming up the body, it is
important to ensure that all our joints are strengthen by improving the
circulation of blood and synovial fluids.
3. Surya Namaskar
Sun Salutation, the universal Yoga exercise which is a 12 step flowing exercise to warm up the whole body.
4. Asanas. Various postures are practised to increase flexibility, strength and to detoxify the body.
5. Shavasana
Total Relaxation. After stressing our body in various positions, we
need to relax completely to enable the flow of energy/ prana/chi.
This is usuallt 10% of the total workout.
6. Pranayama
We usually end the class with a breathing technique.
